Nuova General Nautica srl takes care of the custody and surveillance of boats and engines during the winter season.We have well-equipped places available where, at the request of the customer, we can carry out maintenance or repairs of any type of boat.
We offer both indoor and outdoor storage solutions.
In external storage we are able to create thermo retractable covers to protect boats more safely during the winter.
At the beginning of the winter period we carry out the wintering and, before the summer season, the wintering.
How does the wintering of your boat happen in our storage
Wintering begins with checking the engine by inserting oil into the cylinders to keep them lubricated and removing water from the engine blocks.
We land the batteries and keep them constantly charged to optimize their performance for the next season. We then install dehumidifiers on board the boat to avoid the formation of mold or other annoying problems.
We wash each boat with care and intensity, paying more attention to those with a wooden hull.
Finally, after having performed a complete check up, we cover and deposit the boat in the storage.
If there are any repairs to be carried out, before storing the boat, we notify the customer by providing him with a complete quote prepared by the internal specialized workshop.
Our Shed can accommodate different types of boats, (fiberglass, wood and jet skis), with a length of up to 9 meters.
The interior space is divided into two sectors:
The lower part is located below the level of the lake and is used to accommodate boats up to 9 meters and the main feature of this area is the constant humidity rate which is optimal for the conservation of wooden hulls. We can boast this ‘unique peculiarity’ among the garages of Lake Garda;
The upper part remains above the lake level to accommodate fiberglass boats.
Wintering
Before the season begins, we re-install the batteries and put the boat back in the water to restart the engine. If necessary and after approval of the estimate, we also proceed with the coupon of the vessel.
The boat is then hoisted and put out of the water ready for use.
